Return of the THP Mystery Shopper
Earlier this spring, our friend and secret shopper, who wishes to remain anonymous, came by with a generous donation to help restock the THP client food pantry. THP felt the love from many supporters this spring as they responded immediately and generously to a News & Record article profiling area food pantries and highlighting THP’s client grocery assistance program.
Proper nutrition is essential for any human being, but is particularly important for individuals whose immune systems are significantly compromised by HIV/AIDS. More than 85% of THP clients living with HIV have incomes at or below the Federal Poverty Level and more than 30% have no income at all. THP’s client food pantry is critical to many of these clients in overcoming food insecurity and meeting basic nutritional requirements. In 2015-16 THP distributed 2,630 bags groceries to clients at an average cost of $6 per bag.
